"Every festival needs Friends"
The Friends of Poetry-next-the-Sea, was founded in 2000.
What began as a small, dedicated group of regular visitors to the annual Wells festival is today a thriving association of supporters who are at the heart of the festival’s activities. This group of like-minded poetry lovers provides Poetry-next-the-Sea with much of its unique sense of community. The feeling of intimacy which this creates sets us apart from other similar events and produces an atmosphere which continues to attract the best poets and performers year on year.
Joining our community entitles you to:
-
Price concessions for festival events or a discounted Season Ticket
-
Advance information on each year’s festival programme
-
Wavelength, the Friends’ newsletter, written by and produced especially for, the Friends of Poetry-next-the-Sea – twice yearly (spring and autumn)
-
Information about other events likely to be of interest to Friends (concerts, readings, book launches, fundraisers) throughout the year.
Life membership will cost you just £40
Many of our Friends provide invaluable voluntary assistance during the festival weekend itself, ensuring that we can continue to present our audiences with the highest possible standard of events.
